Very interesting somewhat woody nose, but with some peach/melon scents. On the tongue I can, again, get peach or cantaloupe flavors. Good acid structure—while there is some tartness, it is not enough to chase away anybody who is tart averse—makes it quite refreshing. Maybe I’m showing my inexperience, but, if I did not know better—e.g., I had not seen the label—I would have guessed that this was an Italian wine.
Not yet reviewed; 2010 vintage rated 93+ points by John Gilman: ...The deep and truly lovely nose offers up a very classic blend of lemon, quince, chalky soil tones, a touch of youthful lanolin, bee pollen and a topnote of orange peel... deep, pure and full-bodied, with a rock solid core of fruit, beautiful focus and nascent complexity, crisp acids and superb length and grip on the bright, transparent and snappy finish... will most likely offer a couple of years of early accessibility and then shut down for the remainder of this decade.
