Hudson Vineyards Chardonnay Carneros 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

2006 Hudson Vineyards Carneros Chardonnay(other wineries sourcing grapes from Hudson Vineyards: Kistler, Marcassin, Ramey)Hudson Vineyards winemaking is a collaboration between three people, Lee Hudson, owner and operator, John Kongsgaard, consulting winemaker and Christopher Vandendriessche, winemaker.Lee Hudson is one of California's premier wine-grape growers, selling his fruit to a select list of the finest wineries in the state. This is his own, very rare, estate Chardonnay, and it's a beauty. An amazing combination of great richness and crisp fruit that is very complex and perfectly balanced. The oak is subtle and adds complexity without overwhelming the purity of the fruit from this special vineyard.Tasting Notes from a contributing Master SommelierA classic Hudson profile. Sharing many characteristics with the 2005 vintage; grilled nectarines, roasted corn and toasted nuts, but more textured and focused. Mineral, lees and stone fruit dominate the nose. Intense long, smooth finish balanced with high acidity and hints of lime and mint. A California Chardonnay which can age 7+ years. Would pair well with grilled scallops with corn salsa.
