Food Pairings for Houghton the Bandit Shiraz-Tempranillo Western Australia Vintage
I enjoyed this wine. It had a dark ruby colour, and the aroma was a pleasant mixture of blackberry and cherry, with hint of something like chocolate or coffee. It was firm and full-bodied. The initial flavour was that of blackberry, and immediately it made the mouth water. It had a long finish, with the blackberry giving way to a warm chocolate flavour. I enjoyed it with a spicy dish (chill prawn linguine) and the acidity and tanins held up well against the fresh chilli. Perhaps a little too tannic for my liking were I intending to drink it by itself.
