Horton Vineyards Pear Orange County Pear Port NV

Member Review by lingotskin:

This is the only pear port I have been able to find and thus I give it 4 "stars" for originality and good taste. We had a pear port in a similar looking bottle, tried this one and it wasn't it... however... we were happily surprised and this one is a keeper. It's super sweet and a little thick- I have been told that it's a great base for sangria!

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

As far as we know, this a one of a kind wine. A rich, full bodied, sweet (very sweet) dessert wine, loaded with the flavors and aromas of very ripe pears with a touch of brandy. Even chilled, this wine will warm you up.
