Hopkins Vineyard White Blend Duet 2010

Member Review by MTB:

The tasting notes indicate "You asked for a low-oak Chardonnay - and here it is!" The nose is crisp with hints of apple. The wine itself is a crisp, dry white wine with notes of tart apple and a touch of sweetness. It's a more full-bodied wine than the Chardonnay, and I can see it pairing nicely with Fall dishes - roast chicken and even beef. It would also pair nicely with stronger cheeses. I found this to be a very interesting wine, and my personal favorite among the Hopkins whites. Duet is a Silver Medal Winner in the Big E Competition and the Tasters Guild International, and a Bronze Medal Winner in the National Women's Wine Competition.

In 1787, Elijah Hopkins, returning from the Revolutionary War, chose this rich and fertile site on Lake Waramaug to settle his family and start the Hopkins Farm. Our farm has witnessed many diversified forms of agriculture over the years including the raising of sheep, race horses, grain crops, tobacco, and in the more recent past dairy farming. In 1979, the first vines were planted and our 19th century barn was converted into a state-of-the-art winery. Read less
