Hop Kiln Red Blend Russian River Valley Rushin' River Red 2008
The classic Rhone partners Grenache and Syrah are blended to Hop Kiln’s Rushin’ River Red. The Grenache offers delicate aromas of strawberry to balance the forest floor character and deeper cedar flavors of our Syrah. A full bodied wine perfect alone or paired with grilled red meats or tomato based pastas.
This is a great big red wine, that has tons of flavor, but not too many tannins like some other big red blends. Loads of dried fruit flavors, with subtle spice undertones! Definitely something to save for a Barbecue or a nice steak dinner.
Complicated blend: Syrah (37%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Zinfandel (23%) and Dolcetto (10%). You can taste the individual varietals - fleshy syrah, the cab's structure, the spice from the zin and , well, maybe I cant pick out the Dolcetto!
