Hollywood & Vine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Short Ends 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Winemaker Celia Welsh Masyczek Notes: This ultra-ripe Cabernet displays a rich tapestry of its multi-faceted origins. Juicy black cherry and raspberry notes from Oakville and Rutherford dominate the aromas, as Spring Mountainís trademark purple plum, mocha, and sweet black olive notes add complexity. Coombsville offers a spicy note and its deep, inky-purple color. Structurally, while the wine shows the density of hillside fruit from Mt. Veeder and Spring Mountain, it is further strengthened by the density of fruit from Rutherford, Oakville, and Coombsville. One of our richest offerings to date; the wine will age well for at least 10 years, yet offers a velvety texture that finishes with a juicy sweetness when enjoyed at release.

Actor turned director and screenwriter, Doug Barr, relocated to the Napa Valley from Hollywood, in the early 1990’s. Inspired to try his hand at the wine business, Doug called his longtime pal, Bruce Orosz, and together, they created Hollywood and Vine Cellars. Recruiting one of the most talented winemakers in the valley, Celia Welch, H & V released it’s first vintage in 1998 to glowing reviews. Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
