Holdredge Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Wren Hop 2007

External Review:

Winemaker's note:"...Pinot Noir is about texture...that sensual, succulent, juicy, fleshy, slides-down-your-throat mouth feel that is so alluring. It's the Russian River Valley's morning river fogs that temper the warm afternoon temperatures allowing the fruit to mature without losing its depth and suppleness. The climate combined with the hilltop location of the Wren Hop vines, as well as the outstanding attention to detail has allowed the Wren Hop fruit to quickly flourish among the ranks of Pinot followers."

Holdredge Wines:
Holdredge Wines is a small, family owned and operated winery in the Russian River Valley of Healdsburg, California. We produce only small lots from vineyards we feel reflect the quality and diversity of Sonoma County's appellations. We also grow Pinot Noir and Syrah in our family's vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Both our farming practices and our winemaking philosophy emphasize a personal, hand-crafted approach.

Good aromas. Delicate. Complex finish. Will age for a number of years.

Deeper than Holdredge's basic Russian River bottling, this single-vineyard offering has more Pinot character, with notes of talc and flowers supporting the meaty fruit, deep base of black spice and minerals.

Deeper than Holdredge's basic Russian River bottling, this single-vineyard offering has more Pinot character, with notes of talc and flowers supporting the meaty fruit. Plush in the mouth with very refined tannins, the delicate flavor profile is enhanced by the deep base of black spice and mineral that adds complexity.
