Holdredge Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2008
Holdredge Wines is a small, family owned and operated winery in the Russian River Valley of Healdsburg, California. We produce only small lots from vineyards we feel reflect the quality and diversity of Sonoma County's appellations. We also grow Pinot Noir and Syrah in our family's vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Both our farming practices and our winemaking philosophy emphasize a personal, hand-crafted approach.
Massive strawberry on the nose with some floral notes. Smooth on the palate but turns into a nice gritty, chalky minerality. Nice acidity, but it finished a tad sour for my liking. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 7/24/10
External Reviews for Holdredge Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
Another outstanding Pinot Noir from Holdredge blending cherries, red licorice, spice and dried bay-leaf. It’s light and juicy with generous acidity making it a perfect wine for dinner.
In the clasic Holdredge style, this wine offers up subtle aromatics that marry the traditional earthy notes of the Russian River with fresh berries and subtle oak nuances. The palate follows with like flavors that add a hint of sage and finish with a lightly stemmy note that adds freshness to the ethereal mouthfeel.
