Hogue Cellars:
THE HOGUE CELLARS™, founded in 1982 by Mike and Gary Hogue, is located in Eastern Washington's Columbia Valley, the premiere grape growing region of the state. The climate and soils of the Columbia Valley produce grapes with intense fruit flavors and high natural acidity. The wines have a liveliness and ripe, zesty fruit flavors that make them ideal complements to a wide range of food.

Supple, focused and appealing for its pretty cherry and spice flavors, picking up a roasted meat note as the finish lingers. Best from 2010 through 2014.

A ripe spectrum of fruit centers on ripe cassis flavor in this cabernet, its texture round and creamy, its tannin grainy and light. This smooth, clean red will complement most any meat on the menu.

Tartly balanced, with ripe blackberry and currant flavors at the core, picking up pepper, licorice and herbal notes as the flavors linger on the chewy finish. Give it time to settle in. Better than bottles previously reviewed. Best from 2007 through 2013.

Classic Washington Cab, pitched about perfectly between rich, dark fruit and anise flavors, and pleasantly nuanced herbal aromatics. Ripe, almost chocolatey in texture, this is a great fall barbecue wine that will carry your through to your hardiest winter holiday fare.

Polished generous and airy in texture with pure currant and blackberry flavors that hint at coffee as the finish lingers against fine tannins. Drink now through 2014.-HS Wine Spectator.

Rich and generous, with a thick layer of bay leaf and other herb notes surrounding a lithe core of black cherry and licorice flavors. Drink now through 2005.

Firm in texture, but open in style, with ripe currant and smoke flavors, lingering well. Drink now through 2012.
