THE HOGUE CELLARS™, founded in 1982 by Mike and Gary Hogue, is located in Eastern Washington's Columbia Valley, the premiere grape growing region of the state. The climate and soils of the Columbia Valley produce grapes with intense fruit flavors and high natural acidity. The wines have a liveliness and ripe, zesty fruit flavors that make them ideal complements to a wide range of food.
straw colored with notes of apricot. Huge apricot flavors, poor midpalate and big fake. 80pts
A late harvest wine is hard to find at this price (about $11 in my area), and I was pleased to find that I liked it so much. I found it sweet but not cloying, and a good pairing with fruit and cheese. A favorite of my husband's and mine on our "be cheesy, and no whining" nights!
Almost a dessert wine.... but dry whites don't do it for me, so I thought this was great. Not sweet enough to be cloying but not dry or oaky at all. Definitely not for everyone, though.
Refreshing wine with heavy tastes of pear and peaches, sweet for a Riesling, however not as sweet as I was expecting. Lovely pale gold color with a nice floral scent, reminded me of lavender. ~Neko
On the sweeter side if that's the way you prefer your Rieslings.
Fall 2008. BOT244. JK Comments: $9. 11.8%.
If you need an acceptable choice for a dinner party for persons who favor sweet but light wines and who are relatively new comers to wine - this is a good choice. For those who have trained themselves to recognize more in a wine, they will find the nose to be flat, and the flavors to be muted.

From the Pacific Northwest, this golden, late harvest Riesling shows a slightly sweet, rich, spicy style, offset by just the right amount of acidity. Enjoy as an apéritif or with light desserts.
Wine Tasting NotesThe Late Harvest White Riesling has aromas and flavors of dried apricot, tangerine, and powdered sugar with a hint of cocoa and mint on the finish. The wine has excellent sugar to acid balance. Excellent as an aperitif or paired with fruit sorbets, poached pears or warm apple crisp.
