I guess that I am not a fan of sweet wine, and this was sweet. Too sweet for my liking. Then again, I like the intensity of espresso straight up, so I might not be the best judge. The wine did have notes of apricot and peach, nice smooth finish.

Being my first gewürztraminer I don't have any frame of reference for Hogue. I *can* tell you, though, that it certainly is a sweeter wine and I can't say I can taste a lot of acidity. Many descriptions say gewürztraminer tastes of litchis. I can't say that I've yet tried litchis, so I can't say if this is true in the case of Hogue. I taste a certain spiced honeyness in the wine. I think I should need to try a dry gewürztraminer to compare with this one, which, to my palette, is quite sweet.

One of my favorites, very good with spicy foods. I like it really cold. Great for summers in Texas. Good with Tex-Mex foods.

This is an off-dry, fruity style, bringing luscious pear, orange, golden apple and citrus flavors to the front. Therersquo;s a hint of orange marmalade, and it has good weight and concentration, along with lovely purity of flavor, right through the finish. Yoursquo;ll be reaching for that next glass before you know it.

Soft in texture, with pretty orange, pear and lychee flavors, lingering quietly. Drink now.

A gewurz with classic accents of rose petals, pineapple and litchi, this is generous and flavorful, creamy and lifted at once. Plus, itrsquo;s a bargain. For a lean pork chop.

With the snap and concentration of a tasty lemon-drop cocktail, this lovely Gewuuml;rztraminer pays homage to the floral aspect of the grape without drowning in it. Perfumed, not soapy, with superb fruit flavors of peaches and citrus, itrsquo;s a sensational value.

Soft, slightly sweet and crisply balanced to show off its rose petal-tinged grapefruit and lychee flavors. A fine wine for sipping on its own. Drink now.

Fruity and clean, itrsquo;s made for take-out Thai food and summer deck parties. Chill it and swill it.
