Hogue Cellars Fumé Blanc Columbia Valley 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes We let our Gewurztraminer attain a high level of ripeness before picking. The resultant wine has aromas of lychee and rose petal. The rich palate is medium-bodied, with lychee, true varietal flavors and a spiciness characteristic of Gewurztraminer. The winemakers suggest pairing the wine with Thai curries or dishes with a sweet peanut sauce.

Wine Tasting NotesOur Fume Blanc has aromas of grapefruit, peach, guava, along with vanilla and a hint of smokiness. On the palate are varietal flavors of grapefruit, white peach and honeydew melon. The wine is crisp, smoky and round with moderate weight and richness contributed by the Semillon (17%) added to the blend. The winemakers suggest pairing the Fume Blanc with grilled shrimp or raw oysters on the half shell.

Crisp, herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc from the Pacific Northwest. Always delicious, always a value...a perennial best buy!
