Hitching Post Pinot Noir Hometown 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Crushed flowers and Spices An attractive Pinot laced with sweet berries, crushed flowers and spices. The aromas and flavors are nicely woven together in a pretty, delicate fabric. The Hometown finishes with excellent length and fine overall balance.

The Buellton Hitching Post was established in 1986, but our roots started at the Casmalia Hitching Post in 1952. It was there that Frank & Natalie Ostini brought "Santa Maria Style BBQ" to its peak of perfection and where children Bill, Bob, Terri & Annette continue to this day. Here at the Hitching Post II in Buellton, we honor that tradition and also embrace the contemporary cooking styles. By combining the old and the new, we have created an exciting cuisine that is uniquely our own. Along with our outstanding steaks, ribs and chicken, we also serve items such as smoked duck breast, ostrich, home-made soups and outstanding pastries; along with what the Los Angeles Times has called the "best" French Fries in Southern California! Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Winemaker Notes - HOMETOWN is our early bottling of Santa Barbara Pinot Noir that showcases the delicious fruit of young Pinot, and the balance and seduction of the 2008 vintage. This three valley blend replaces the Cork Dancer 7.1, with grapes sourced from the same vineyards near Los Alamos, Santa Maria, and Sta. Rita Hills. We are excited with our first Pinot Noir that we made at the ultra-modern Terravant Wine Company in Buellton.
