Vintage: 2001 05/15/2009

Super-rich and concentrated black fruit bomb nose, with some leather and medicinal notes. Fairly big body, balanced tannins and light acidity, with some black fruit and a good amount of leather shoe. Seems overripe and overconcentrated, without the stuffing needed to age this longer, so I'm not sure I'd cellar this one. The medicinal ripeness and somewhat grainy tannins keep this from being a knockout, but it's very pleasant. $17
