Hiedler Grüner Veltliner Thal 2008
This flinty and floral Grüner from Kamptal has gorgeous body, making it a bit meatier and more substantial on the palate than some other Grüners made in a leaner, racier style. Ripe flavors of sour apricot and white peach are matched by a piercing stream of acidity that holds the wine together and keeps the generous fruit in check. This mineral-driven bottling derives its name from the "loess" soils on which it was grown. An exceptional value for top quality Grüner!

It has a pleasant nose of lime, peony, lentil and white tea. Creamy and balanced with medium body, it is complex on the palate with flavors of yellow plum, apple, apricot and lemon-lime. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and spent some time on the lees. It is drinking beautifully now and will be enjoyable through 2016.
