Pale straw/green tint, it couldn’t be more pure; the ethereal nose is a slice of Sherry heaven — tart aromas of green apple, lemon peel, flor (yeast), and almonds enchant the sense of smell with delicacy and aplomb in all four nosing passes — a gem of a bouquet; on palate, the citrusy/doughy tartness greets the taste buds and immediately cleanses them — the goal of manzanilla, which is to stimulate and not overpower, is accomplished by this squeaky clean, refreshingly tart, and altogether subtle winner; I would have given a fourth star had there been more of a salty/briny tang; nevermind, just go out and buy it to have on hand as a superlative aperitif; as with all finos and manzanillas, be sure to consume it soon after buying; this winner ages over the span of seventeen criadera sequences.
Dry and refreshing, with apple, straw and nutty flavors as underscored by a salty tanginess. Lightweight and balanced, this is very appealing. Break out the almonds and olives. Drink now.
Lime and citrus blossom aromas introduce this delicate, apple-flavored Sherry. Itandrsquo;s round and soft, with light but persistent flavors, and a salt air tang in the end. A refreshing style.
Delivers up aromas of the sea, as well as the intense taste of Chinese dried prunes.
The benchmark among fino-style Sherries is La Gitana. Simply put, itandrsquo;s a classic. Pour yourself a copita of this beauty and sip it while munching some olives, peanuts or pistachios. Shazzam! Youandrsquo;re transported to a whitewashed village in Andalusia. Aromas of mushroom and yeast are just as they should be. And deep within are subtle flavors of marzipan and citrus. The long, salty, bone-dry finish cleanses the palate and primes your appetite for better things to come.
Bright, with saline, sunchoke and blanched almond notes backed by a piercing, chalk-framed finish. This is all precision and cut. Drink now.
Nutty, honeyed, Resinous aromas and flavors are followed by a round, medium- to full-bodied structure. it shows good intensity, and a walnut note kicks in on the finish. Drink now.
