Hey Mambo Swanky White California 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

A refreshing blend of jaw-dropping class, the Hey Mambo Swanky White is unquestionably a sumptuous delight. The inaugural vintage of this California appellation is composed of Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Muscat Canelli and Chenin Blanc. Swanky and sumptuous, this summertime blend is the perfect ensemble to warm Brie garnished with mango preserves and pita chips, grilled shrimp and pineapple skewers over jasmine rice or lightly battered baby artichokes, carrots and fennel with a lemon aioli. The hue of brilliant canary diamonds, this wine bursts open with aromas of a summertime farmers market, with ripe apricots, peaches, lavender bouquets and orchid blossoms. Not to be taken lightly, this swanky white is passionately floral and delectably juicy. Its layers of crisp acidity unfold amid flavors of fresh lime, gala apples, grapefruit and lemongrass.

With a pale straw color, this blend of Swanky white boasts aromas of white peach, pineapple, lily blossom, and kiwi. This wine starts with good weight and flavors of nectarine, Bartlett pear, lemon curd, and red apple. Then turns a corner and finishes with flavors of tangerine sorbet, cotton candy, meyer lemon, and lime zest. This is a very versatile wine that has great balance of fruit notes with good integrated acids and a lingering finish. This Swanky White blend is always fun to make. You get to dance the fine line of delicate tropical fruits, sweetness, structure, and acidity. This allows the blend to have a lot of diversity in regards to food pairings. The Viognier from Clarksburg and Mendocino brings peach, pineapple, and lemon curd notes. The Sauvignon Blanc from Clarksburg and Lodi adds mouthwatering acidity and zesty flavors. The Muscat Canelli from Clarksburg adds natural sweetness and floral aromas and flavors. To round out the mouthfeel and crisp apple finish, the Clarksburg Chenin Blanc adds subtle notes that help bring it all together. This is a great wine for appetizers, hot summer nghts, or even with a dessert course of cheese and dried fruits. - Winery
