Meddersheim is a quiet little town way out on the western side of the Nahe Valley, just past Bad Sobernheim, where Harold Hexamer grows this massive riesling. Itrsquo;s richly lemony and sweet with a dense core of minerality. In ten years, after it sheds some of its baby fat, it should be stunning.
Pure and vibrant, with the racy structure keeping the apricot, mango and nectarine flavors focused and persistent through the lingering finish. Drink now through 2012.
This has been one of the most memorable Rieslings that Irsquo;ve had to date. Bursting with fruit, it had an acidity that made my mouth water like biting into a fresh green apple. The sweet-tart flavors held onto my tongue and I was stunned by how long they lasted. This wine can be enjoyed almost anytime, but if you save it for a special occasion you will not be disappointed.
