Hewitson Ned and Henrys Shiraz 2012

External Review:

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2011 Ned & Henry’s Shiraz Mourvedre gives a nose of black currants and black cherries with nuances of pepper, charcoal, dried herbs and damp soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals a backbone of chewy, somewhat astringent tannins and refreshing acid supporting the pepper and herb laced flesh and finishing long. Drink it now through 2016.

A yummy Shiraz from Australia with a bit of Mourvèdre for depth and color. Big, jammy fruit, bold black spices and heavy smoke on the palate. Best with barbecue or other heavy meat dishes, especially those with a bit of heat.
