Very bright fruity nose with, maybe, a suggestion of cocoa. On the tongue, cassis, blueberry, and a hint of cherry fruit give this wine a youthful feeling on introduction. I then get some pretty serious tannin which I do not find off-putting. In fact, it removes the fruit forward label that one might initially assign.

WS 91pts. - WE 90pts. - According to the Wine Spectator: Complex, with ripe cherry, plum and a hint of cr me de cassis. Full-bodied and fleshy, with depth, richness and concentration, ending with a mocha flavor. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2015. Winemaker Notes - A seductively layered Bordeaux blend, with a compelling nose of licorice, clove, sweet spice and blueberry from the Petit Verdot and Malbec intricately mingled with cedar, tobacco, cassis and black currant from the Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich mocha notes unfold on the supple palate, lingering well into the long, elegant finish.
