Hess Estate Allomi Vineyard Cabernet 2010
This wine begins with aromas of raspberries, black cherries and a hint of vanilla, which continue on a red fruit-driven palate. Ripe flavors of cherries, plum and currant mingle with hints of nutmeg and graphite, with a slight toasty oak component. Silky, youthful tannins are coating on a rich, textured mid palate, continuing on a lingering finish. Accessible now, this wine should continue to age gracefully for 6 to 8 years.
This 2010 of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California is good. Deep ruby-red color with a mid-rim variation. Fruit notes of Black Currants and Bosyenberry with a hint of mocha, cinnamon and tobacco. It has a long finish on the palette with mid acidity. This wine has not peaked and will mature nicely over time (2018-2020). Best served chilled to 64 degrees, double decanted and served with a mid-rare bone-in lamb chop dish.
