Hess Collection Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes On the nose mocha, brown sugar, and dark chocolate wrap around a core of mountain blackberry. Cedar and cassis follow as secondary aromas. The palate is well balanced with berry flavors and spice. While displaying classic mountian concentration, fine grained tannins provide a smooth finish. Great ageing potential.

Tiefdunkles Purpurgranat. Wer Ihn jetzt geniessen möchte unbedingt 2 Stunden vorher dekantieren.

Mount Veeder is distinguished among Napa's mountain districts for having the highest elevation, coolest growing season and geologically diverse soils. Hess Collection Mount Veeder wines are an expression of the unique mountain climate they come from and are distinguished for their complexity, structure and elegance. This 2006 is a prime example. Wine Enthusiast magazine scored it 92 points and said "Ripe and forward in the modern cult style, with flavors of blackberry tart, black currants, milk chocolate and ripe mulberry, in addition to sweet, smoky oak. Sturdy mountain tannins provide structural bite, and should help the wine mature beyond 2011." Very limited!
