Graham cracker, cinnamon, and cedar intertwine with currant and boysenberry both in the nose and on the palate. Up-front fruit on the entry transitions easily to a mid of finesse and balance. The fine-grained tannins in the finish are pleasing now, but will reward those who can wait a few more years of aging in the cellar! The 2010 vintage will be remembered for its long, cool growing season and the absence of excessive heat events, which allowed for ripe flavors to develop on the vine without excessive sugar accumulation. The result is an elegant balance of fruit flavors and acidity with lower alcohol. Food Pairing: Earthy flavors enhance the fruit flavors in this wine, especially with foods such as herb roasted chicken, grilled pork, caramelized onions, eggplant, sautéed greens, roasted potatoes or vegetables and aged Jack and Gouda cheese.
