Hess Allomi Cabernet Sauvignon C0 2008
This wine is rich and earthy with an aroma of dark berries and sage and has a very nice mouth with gentle tannins leading to a nice finish. The winemaker’s notes say this wine can hold for 8 to 10 years.
Very good. Paired well with our buffalo filets.

This is a good wine that can hold its own among some far more expensive bottlings. It's ripe in currants and cassis, and well-oaked, with elaborate tannins. The mouth impression is of elegance, intensity and balance.
Rich and full-bodied, this Hess has velvety cassis and plum over well-integrated tannins, with notes of minty smoke weaving throughout.

Appealing for its supple fruitiness, the mix of plum, black cherry and wild berry fruit is polished and complex. The tannins are ripe and integrated and the finish keeps repeating those flavor themes. A great buy at this price. Drink now through 2009. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
Sleek and tight, with ripe, spicy, minty dried currant and blackberry fruit that offers a subtle mix of mineral and nutmeg, ending with dry, cedary tannins. Drink now through 2011.
Here's a gutsy, fruity Cabernet. It fills the mouth with juicy raspberry, cherry and blackberry flavors and hints of chocolate. Nothing subtle, just a dry, rich red wine for drinking now.
Hess almost always nails the vintage, and this is a nice example of a good, not great, Cab. It tastes mountainy, to judge from the tannins and fruit concentration. Will be good now with rich, well-marbled beef, but should develop for a few years.
