Hermitage la Sizeranne Chapoutier 1998

Winemaker's Notes:

"One of the strongest efforts Chapoutier has produced from Hermitage is the 1998 Ermitage La Sizeranne, which is performing even better from bottle than it was last year from cask. It offers up an earthy, smoky, sweet black currant-scented nose, followed by big, chewy, full-bodied flavors, excellent texture, and an intriguing liquid mineral nuance to the deep, sweet, ripe flavors..." WA 2/01.

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.
