Crozes Hermitage Domaine des Remizieres Rhone Remizier's Crozes Hermitage, his bread-and-butter wine, is juicy, spicy, mouth-filling and seductive, yet relatively light-on-its-feet. It captures the spicy, smoky, leathery quality of Syrah from the northern Rhone in an especially accessible style. It would be difficult to find a better red wine from France at this ever-so-gentle price point.
Medium ruby. Powerful aromas of raspberry, strawberry liqueur, licorice and violet. Firm and compact on the palate, showing deep, mineral-laced red berry and cherry flavors and a clinging, sappy texture. Fruit-packed, minerally and very long on the finish, with a repeating raspberry flavor. This very sexy wine refuses to let go of the palate.
