Hermitage Cuvee Emile Remizieres 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2005 Hermitage Cuvee Emilie has also turned out better than I thought from cask. A wonderfully intense bouquet of licorice, graphite, blackberry liqueur, and stone is followed by a full-bodied wine with superb concentration, and chewy, deep flavors of espresso roast, smoke, licorice, and creme de cassis. With plenty of tannin, this wine looks set to enjoy 20 or more years of aging potential...93+." WA 2/08

Then Philippe, his son, settled down in 1977 and he decided to market all the production in bottles. Increases and modernization were made then little by little. In 2005, Emilie, awarded in oenology, joined with her father. Read less

Crozes Hermitage Domaine des Remizieres Rhone Remizier's Crozes Hermitage, his bread-and-butter wine, is juicy, spicy, mouth-filling and seductive, yet relatively light-on-its-feet. It captures the spicy, smoky, leathery quality of Syrah from the northern Rhone in an especially accessible style. It would be difficult to find a better red wine from France at this ever-so-gentle price point.
