Hermanos de Domingo Molina Torrontes 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

This refreshing Torrontés is a pale yellow with shades of green, with a delicate fruity aroma and a note of freshly mown grass. We suggest chilling in the fridge before serving, then sipping it with friends or pairing it with mild cheeses and simple seafood dishes.

I had this as part of a Argentinian tasting at a local wine store. This also had good notes of lemon and lime (as compared to Norton Torrontes 2010) although this was fuller and sweeter than the last. There was an after taste that was a tad on the bitter side. This small, family producer doesn't have property in Mendoza or anywhere else--Salta all the way. You can tell in the wine itself, with really nice stone fruit flavor and a more traditional approach that leads to a fuller-bodied Torrontes, with very light oak maturation that makes the fruit creamier and taste more like fruit preserves at the same time.

Very pale straw-yellow color. Enticing spicy lift to the aromas of white peach peppermint and floral oils. Juicy spicy and aromatic showing moderate depth but good mineral intensity and definition. Finishes quite dry with a piquant peppery quality. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

Pale bright yellow. Steely aromas of citrus peel, wild herbs, minerals and licorice turned muskier with air. Round and juicy in the mouth, with citrus and spice flavors dominating. Not quite as complex as the nose suggests, but nicely fresh and persistent.

The chiseled lemon-lime aromas are minerally and crisp, with a touch of lychee. This feels light on its feet but shows depth, with flavors of citrus, green herbs and lychee. It’s smooth and fresh on the finish, with a green herb note.
