Hermann Wiemer Seneca Lake White Frost Cuvee 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"With each vintage, grapes present different flavors and intensities. As a result, Frost Cuvee is specially crafted each year to best reflect the outcome of the growing season. A differing blend of Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, creates a smooth and approachable off-dry blend. There are bright fruit and floral notes up front while light pear and a touch of spice grace the palate. Refreshing, yet complex, Frost Cuvee is a perfect wine for any occasion, from Thanksgiving dinner to summer sunsets, and everything in between." -Winery

Riesling-obsessed connoisseurs know how important Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard's pioneering work is to wine. Hermann, born in Germany with an extensive wine family background, discovered the Finger Lakes in the 1960's, and its cool climate and gravelly soil reminded him of the Mosel Valley. Realizing the untapped potential of the Finger Lakes region, he started to grow classic European vines along selected sites on one of the most prominent properties in the Finger Lakes. Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard estate grown wines are established from traditions of excellence and have a reputation for being exceptionally lush, crisp and well balanced. Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard is founded on the philosophy of quality and hand crafted wines. Located on the shores of Seneca Lake, the well drained sloping shalestone bedrock and Honeoye silt loam soil lend itself to the production of what critics consider to be some of the best grown Rieslings in America.
