Herdade da Malhadinha Nova Red Blend Alentejo Monte de Peceguina 2007
Monte da Peceguina presents a concentrated red fruit aroma with an exuberant chocolate and coffee touch. On the mouth we can easily realize that we are in presence of a distinct wine characterized by fresh fruit and the tannins elegance. An unforgettable persistent finish, is marked by persistent chocolate that conveys a sense of velvet.
A family estate property located in Alentejo where we produce hight quality wines and raise certified animals.
A blend of Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Aragones (aka Tempranillo), & Alicante Bouschet. Hand harvetsted and fermented in temperature controlled open top lagers then aged in new American and French oak barrels. 7,250 cases produced in 2005. Dark purple reddish robe with a big fruit forward nose of dark berrys, tobacco, and cocoa. The palate is full bodied, medium tannins, just the right amount of acidity, balanced, with blackberry and plum standing out. The finish lingers with nice espresso and slight chocolate notes. This should be a big crowd pleaser and appeal to many taste. At $25 US I would definitely buy this again though I understand its pretty hard to come by. 4.5/5
