Food Pairings for Henry of Pelham Pinot Blanc
Dry, acidic, and lemon-water pale, Henry of Pelham’s 2004 vintage is a firm, almost bracing expression of Pinot Blanc. A prime example of ‘more than meets the nose’, expect a bit of a surprise on the palate. A soft nose of peach, floral notes, and apple makes mischief by belying a sharper palate of lime, mineral, and green apple characteristics. While interesting, this was perhaps too rough a treatment for so subtle a grape. Still, with its crisp finish this wine would make a suitable backyard sipper and a nice accompaniment for a lighter meal.
