Henry Marionnet Provignage 2008
The vineyard is growing on a clay soil covered over by small flint. The grape variety is ROMORANTIN, brought from Burgundy into our region by François 1st in 1519. Our ancestors used to multiply plants by « layering » a branch and covering it over with soil. How these plants survived the Phylloxera that swept through the country in 1870 is a mystery. The state of conservation is surprising and the magnificent twisted and tormented trunks are proof of their great age. The mini-harvest and batch of this unique wine thus carries the name of Provignage.
