Henry Fessy Moulin-À-Vent 2009
This wine has impressive colour and intense aromas of red and black fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant. There are also spicy notes along with liquorice on the finish. With great balance, this is a concentrated, well-structured wine with very pleasant silky tannins. Suggested food pairings: Veal roasts, filet de boeuf en croute, dishes with truffle or chanterelle mushroom sauce, wild game and cheese.
blackberries on the nose....real full mouthfeel with some great acidity leading to a slightly sweet finish than lingers.
As effusively praised on <a href="http://www.wypr.org/Cellar_Notes.html">Cellar Notes</a>, although once again they spelled the name incorrectly on their web site. The best Beaujolais Hugh Sisson has ever tasted.
Typical Beaujolais...Fruit heavy! Aromas of Black Cherry, strawberry, and kool-aid. This wine was a medium bodied easy drinker. The fruit on the nose carried all the way through to the mellow finish with just a hint of earth. This fruity favorite is perfectly balanced, with crisp acidity, and soft almost non- existent tannins. The fruit is the show, and it's delivered with finesse.
