Henriot Brut Souverain 750ml
Firm and toasty, with hints of tropical fruit mixing with notes of quince, lemon zest, smoky mineral, ginger and white pepper. This finds a balance between its fresh, lively character and a sweet, juicy component, ending with a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2021.
Shows lovely balance, with a lacy texture and a fine frame of acidity enlivening the rich flavors of toasted brioche, baked plum, graphite, crystallized honey and ground anise. Offers a smoky, lingering finish. Drink now through 2020.
Henriot’s non-vintage blend takes a panoramic view of Champagne, working with fruit from 25 crus, 60 percent pinot noir (mostly Montagne de Reims) and 40 percent chardonnay (mostly Côte des Blancs). One third of the blend is reserve wine from four vintages. The current release is brisk, bright, zesty and grand, its flavors combining fresh lemon and earthy roasted fennel in a gracious, mouthwatering Champagne.
A world-class champagne; for a blanc de blancs, the wine has a true golden color, the nose is fresh tree fruit, and its amazing in the glass; the palate is dominated by mouth-filling McIntosh apple, with great weight and balancing acidity; an outstanding bottle to enjoy and savor for any event.
Dusty pollen, fresh-cut flowers and sweet fruits mingle invitingly, leading you into flavors of pomegranate, cranberry and spice. Big and polished, this sensual feast of a wine delivers an extra dimension of flavor, power and length.
There is great intensity to this finely crafted Champagne. Itandrsquo;s rich and toasty, with flavors of ripe gooseberries and, in this example, some good bottle age. Henriot, which also owns Bouchard Pandegrave;re et Fils in Burgundy, is obviously on a good streak at the moment.
