Henriot Brut Champagne Rose Millesime 1998

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): This has changed very little from my review of two years ago as the toasty nose still has abundant notes of roast nut, brioche and distinct yeast aromas that complement rich, full and powerful flavors that offer excellent intensity and finishing punch on the impressively long finish. This can be drunk with pleasure now or cellared for at least another decade, perhaps longer. A lovely effort fashioned in a relatively robust and powerful but not inelegant style. Drink: now+. (Oct 2009)

She undertook the task of making available the very private Champagne Henriot in her father's vineyard in Bouzy and sold her wines under the name "Veuve Henriot Ainé". The House cultivates a very particular style, valuing time, patience, and the pursuit of perfection. It chooses the best wines from the best "crus", demanding the most careful work from the vineyard and cellar workers. The family’s knowledge of the terroirs and blending skill makes the wines of Champagne Henriot regognizable among all others. The style : Champagne Henriot is commmited to offering wines with a strong personality centered around the family’s philosophy of wine making. Read less
