Helen S Hill Evolution Rouge 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

Nose-subtle but complex nuances of honey and fig with underlying fruit and toasty characters from 100% barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc in old French oak, using“wild” yeast. The palate continues to display the "wild” fermentation characters with hints of almond and butterscotch combined with delicate and balanced acidity

Very nice SB ... very french in style. Much like a Sancerre.

Refreshing detour from monotonous New Zealand cat's pee scented Sauvignon blanc. There's complexity on the nose with fig coming through. Good on the palate. Interesting and worthy of contemplation.
