From first sip to glorious finish, the 2004 Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon captures the essence of this superb vintage. This wine is a Rutherford classic, deeply-hued and powerful, with a lush bouquet of fresh raspberry. Its vibrant core of Cabernet fruit is beautifully wrapped in French oak with a slight hint of vanilla. Skillfully balanced with firm tannins and lively acidity, it soars to an unforgettable finish. Decant this wine to enjoy today, or cellar it and reward yourself in years to come. - Winery

Vintage: 2002 10/12/2009

In the early 1980s, the Heitz Family acquired the Trailside vineyard. Compared to Heitz's other single vineyards, this bottle is considered the most robust and powerful style with bold fruit and assertive but upfront use of new oak.

Spicy, toasty oak is wrapped around ripe cherry, plum and currant flavors that fold together nicely, gaining depth and complexity and ending with a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2013. 2,707 cases made. -JL The 2002 Trailside Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a tribute to the marvelous character of its Rutherford terroir and to the purity of the varietal.Powerful and beguiling, this deeply-hued wine awakens the senses with the aroma of ripened blackberry, ripe cherry and slight notes of cedar. Then the palate fills with the mouth-watering flavors of rich, dark fruit seamlessly integrated with French Limousin oak. Impeccably balanced with firm tannins and a supple structure, this luscious Cabernet soars to a harmonious, lengthy finish. It is certain to impress those who drink it today as well as those who choose to cellar. - Winery
