Heinz Eifel Riesling Shine Gewurztraminer 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

Made from grapes selected from the Rheinhessen. Grapes are harvested in the vineyard site of Binger St. Rochuskapelle. Whole bunch pressing followed by a racking off the must within twelve hours. It goes through a slow, temperature controlled fermentation. The fermentation is stopped where a part of natural sugar is not totally fermented into alcohol. The wine is then matured in stainless steel tanks. The yeast stays in contact for some more weeks and gently processed until bottling. Gewurztraminer is an aromatic grape variety, used in white wines, and performs best in cooler climates. The variety has high natural sugar, with a flamboyant bouquet of lychees. Pair with Asian cuisine, cheese, and fleshy, oily, wild gamed. Smoked salmon is a good match.
