"It is no wonder that HEIDSIECK & C° MONOPOLE distributed 1 million bottles world wide during 1895 and was considered by connoisseurs as a very great wine."

A full and fruity flavour in the mouth.Fine bubbles, creamy mousse and a lingering finish. Strong and generous nose. Slightly woody.

Considering I bought it at 15 euro per bottle (about half price of normal retail), super bargain !

Heidsieck Monopole Heidsieck & Co. Monopole Champagne Blue Top Brut NV - 11/10/07

The champagne is a lovely dark wheat color. It releases a bouquet of warm brioche, citrus, and crisp apples. There is a slight mineral, creamy taste with a lingering finish. It went well with oysters and desserts. On its own, it has a slightly dry finish, but balances nicely when paired with food - and it can be paired with different cuisines.

Always an enjoyable non-vintage, Heidsieck Monopolersquo;s style has changed little despite all the changes in ownership. It has a soft, open character, but never seems sweet, and is more rounded with creamy apple flavors and well-integrated acidity.
