"It is no wonder that HEIDSIECK & C° MONOPOLE distributed 1 million bottles world wide during 1895 and was considered by connoisseurs as a very great wine." A full and fruity flavour in the mouth.Fine bubbles, creamy mousse and a lingering finish. Strong and generous nose. Slightly woody. Considering I bought it at 15 euro per bottle (about half price of normal retail), super bargain !
The champagne is a lovely dark wheat color. It releases a bouquet of warm brioche, citrus, and crisp apples. There is a slight mineral, creamy taste with a lingering finish. It went well with oysters and desserts. On its own, it has a slightly dry finish, but balances nicely when paired with food - and it can be paired with different cuisines.
by far one of the best values in champagne...recomended by friend @ K&D wines on madison ave nyc...for the price blows out yellow label...you will not be disappointed!!

winemakers notes: Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2007! "Elegant and expressive, this delivers floral, pear and toffee flavors matched to a creamy texture. Beautifully integrated, this lingers nicely on the mineral finish. Drink now through 2010." Wine Spectator 91 Points critical acclaim: "Impressively fine bubbles cascade up from the bottom of the glass, suggesting richness and elegance. Theres a lush creaminess in the mouth, packed with flavors of candied orange, apricot and pineapple. The wine scores a flavor bulls eye in every possible way, from the textured, enticing bouquet to the rich, mouth-filling fruit and on through the lingering, precise and powerful finish." 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast
60% Pinot Noir 40% ChardonnayWinery NotesYellow color with gold highlights. Fine bubbles and creamy mousse. Strong and generous nose. Slightly woody. Round mouth feel and a lingering finish. Champagne Heidsieck & Co Monopole Premiers Crus is ideal as a gift, an aperitif, and combines also very harmoniously with white meat.
Light yellow-gold. Ripe pear and strawberry aromas and flavors along with notes of sweet butter and honey. Fleshy and open-knit showing a supple texture and good finishing cling. Easygoing and seamless Champagne that has the heft to work with richer foods. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
A traditional Champagne; medium body, medium yeast, yet absolutely perfect in execution; a successful “everyday” Champagne, the bubbles are small and the taste is excellent.
20% chardonnay 10% pinot meunier 70% pinot noir. Deep golden straw. Snappy aromas of apples and hints of herbs which follow through to the palate. Medium full bodied there is definitely more power and structure here compared to Pommery. Straightforward with very fresh flavors of lemon drop candy and melon leading towards a dry firm finish. A pleasant fizz. (Disgorged in 2009) Chuck Hayward.
Appearance: Light yellow colour, with green highlights. Nose: Strong and generous nose, slighty woody and spicy, characterised by an aromatic richness blending toasty and buttery aromas. Palate: An unreserved palate, full, fruity and well-structured taste. Drinking occasions: A vigorous and lively wine, ideal as an aperitif. With a meal, it is a perfect accompaniment to seafood and white meats.
