Heartland Shiraz 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

A dark, rich purple colour. This delicious black Shiraz has hints of chocolate, menthol and tobacco leaf on the nose. Plums, blackcurrant and spice flavours abound on the palate and are perfectly balanced by fine, supple tannins.

For the price, this a delicious, spicy, deep cherry-kirsch rendition of the Syrah grape in South Australia. I have tasted several bottles of this wine as it is a perennial favorite of several relatives. Good, deep red fruit and light oak on the nose with similar offerings on entry. Very smooth, with a long finish. Aged in the bottle for an additional 2.5 years, this wine shows the master craftsmanship of Ben Glaetzer. Well Done! You could conceivably keep this for another 2 years under good cellaring conditions.

WOW - Brilliant - Big & Fruity Reccomended by local Oddbins (£14.99) Benefits from opening early so it can breath
