Deep, bright red. Pungent, clove-inflected blackberry and plum aromas, with a hint of vanilla. Bright and vibrant in the mouth, with medium body and lively, sweet raspberry and blackberry flavors. Finishes with notes of clove, cinnamon nutmeg and Szechuan peppercorn. Offers nice lift.

The exceptional 2003 Shiraz Baroota raises the bar a notch, revealing more nuances, greater complexity and abundant quantities of cassis, blackberries, licorice, and smoke. It is best consumed over the next 5ndash;8 years.

The distinctive 2001 Shiraz Baroota was fashioned from 8-year vines cropped at 2 tons of fruit per acre. It exhibits a saturated ruby/purple color along with a singular chocolatey, coffee, and earthy edge to its blackberry and cassis fruit. Sweet, voluptuously-textured, dense, and chewy, with outstanding purity and length, it should drink well for 7-8 years.

The name may conjure up images of the day after drinking a bottle of Shiraz, but the flavors are as clear as a bell. Deeply colored, spice scented, and offering richly-textured jammy currant and blueberry flavors. Shows a nice little hint of oak underneath. So delicious, it may be a challenge to avoid a certain haziness, but give it a try.
