Barnyard smells, woodsy aromas, little fruit on the nose. the palate extends to red cherry fruit and strawberry, raspberry nice acidity with some earthiness underneath, classic pinot finish
Purchased 3/15/08 at Bottle Pass Liquors in Fraser, CO for 17.27. A lighter styled PN, but well made, with light purple color, raspberries, plum and spice flavors and a litlle vanilla in the background. Definitely worth the price.

Hayman And Hill Santa Lucia Highlands You could easily spend $50 or more for a Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir. But this tremendous value will set you back a mere $17. Hayman \& Hill is named for David Hayman, an Australian winemaker who's senior vice president of Pacific Wine Partners and Dennis Hill, chief winemaker for Blackstone. The duo collaborates on the winemaking and source the fruit from some of California's best-known appellations. The fruit for this Pinot Noir comes from the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA, an appellation made famous by the likes of Pisoni, Roar and Testarossa. But where those wines can be so big that they almost don't taste like Pinot Noir, the Hayman and Hill comes down firmly on the pretty and elegant side of Pinot. Bright cherry and strawberry flavors dominate, with fine structure and good acidity on the finish. In a blind tasting, this wine won out over many of its higher priced counterparts.
