Hayman & Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Reserve Selection 2006
Wine Tasting Notes Dark plum and cherry aromas are edged with notes of licorice, and unfold gradually to subtle, smoky oak. Soft and luscious on entry, with bright, almost sweet flavors of ripe stone fruit. The medium weight and stylish finish are typical of Napa Valleys finest Merlot. This wine is well suited for spicy casseroles with beef or chicken and will complement subtle wild rice and lightly seasoned pasta dishes.
One-dimensional merlot with abundant fruit and not much acidity to hold it in check. Low tannins. Tastes and smells like blackberry jam.
This was the favorite of our group. We picked up a lot of chocolate, tobacco and leathery flavors, in addition to the "dusty" taste of most napa cabs.
Good with steak, had it at 'Bone fish' the first time.
One of my favorite wines under $20 so far. Berries and a tad smokey. Not just for "burgers" this wine is favorably reviewed throughout the web and I agree.
A great example of a California red. The smell is overwhelmed by berries followed by a silky, fruity and rounded tannic finish. Went well with a pan roasted steak and spinach salad.

Dark cherries and cassis seamlessly complement the smoky chocolate notes in this classic California Cabernet. It's unbelievable that this wine is available for less than $15! Brought to you by the winning winemaking team of David Hayman and Dennis Hill, of Blackstone fame, the Selection No. 27 captures every quality that good Cabernets are known for - dense, dusty fruits, firm, hearty tannins and an overwhelming sense of satisfaction in the finish. Amazing value.
