- ($44) Good ruby-red. Smoky raspberry, ripe plum, coffee and a hint of menthol on the nose. Very sweet, fruit-driven wine, with thoroughly ripe flavors of raspberry and chocolate supported by solid backbone. Finishes with big, dusty tannins and excellent length.

- Brighter, more vibrant colour than La Chapelle, firmer yet sweeter fruit, less earthy, more polished, very fine, slightly smokey fruit, great clarity of flavour, ripe and sweet. Ready 2006-2018. (tasted en primeur)

- Real mineral savour and attack; so much more penetrable than its big brother Ch Haut Brion. Already relatively round and supple, offering Haut Brion's special flavours up for early consumption. Only 31% Cabernet Sauvignon with 45% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc.
