Some sweet charry oak spice and vanilla notes lurks under big blueberry tinged blackberry fruit on the nose with just a hint of blood orange. Plush, broad and yet deep on the palate, with great fruit that has a deep briary core, Grapy with that hint of blood orange on the palate as well. A palate which is packed with jammy blackberry fruit, and chocolate overtones leading to a spicy and somewhat simple finish. This is a pretty big wine, finishing with oaky, creamy, vanilla and butterscotch influence, followed by a hint of balsamic briar, and a cinnamon-sandalwood underlay. You gotta love your oak but if you do this is a wine for you. 88pts

100% American oak Two blocks, one old vine and a young, 15 year old Black fruit, cola, and spice all come together with freshness on the deep, complex nose that shows off some lovely spicy highlights. Very pretty nose. This opens beautifully with rich candied blackberry fruit, and flavors that are powerful but with great focus. A decidedly big wine but one that is very well balanced, with excellent purity of fruit, and a fairly long finish offering vibrant briary blackberry fruit with nice firm little tannins that add a touch of austerity creating great textural vibrancy on the finish. 90pts

Smoky, toasty and intense with floral/herbal background notes laid over a core of salty plum fruit. Big in the mouth with a rather smooth feel, very polished and easy to drink with its gentle vanilla and grilled meat nuances accenting the core of lightly spicy plum, boysenberry and date fruit. This is really fairly big and intense with lots of depth emerging over time. The tannins are firm but for the most live beneath the robe of dark fruit, emerging briefly on the moderately long finish, which has a nice core of sweet fruit. 89pts

A very nice Zin. Good sipper. Ruby color. Not as heavy as other Zins I've had. Not bitter, not oaky, no instant heartburn. I'm thinking Italian dinner with friends for a Zin Taste party.

Oaky in the nose, with lots of blackberry umami aromas and chocolate. The fruit is ripe, a little jammy but not too much, and it dominates the palate, with good tannic backbone. A little buttery on the finish.

Deep earthy nose, with cloves and cinammon scents. Rich, emollient mouthfeel, very thick and rich. Tart blueberries on the finish, with cocoa.
