What to Expect

The classic Bordeaux blends rely on either Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon for the bulk of the wine with additions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec helping to add complexity, color, body and structure to the finished wine.

Winemakers Notes

H. William Harlan, the founder of Harlan Estate, had a vision. Simply put, he was determined to produce a California "First Growth". Harlan is an entrepreneur with a strong background in real estate and hotel development - someone who has come to understand the importance of "location". Harlan Estate is the result of a twenty year search for prime hillside vineyards, culminated by the patchwork acquisition of 230 acres above the fabled Rutherford-Oakville beachlands. The land is magnificent...oak-studded knolls and valleys, only ten percent of which are now under read more...vine.

For nearly two decades, Harlan Estate has been committed to creating a California "First Growth" wine estate.
Set in the western hills of Oakville, rising above the fabled Napa Valley benchlands, the estate is over 240 acres of natural splendor; oak-studded knolls and valleys, roughly fifteen percent of which are under vine, planted to the classic varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
