Harlan Bond Vecina 2006

Member Review by Philip James:

Really nice wine - concentrated and dense. Blueberries and blackberries with delicate floral notes. Sweet tannins on the finish giving the wine cedar, vanilla flavors.

The deep ruby/purple-tinged 2006 Vecina exhibits notions of scorched earth, charcoal, graphite, blackberries, and black currants, plenty of tannin, and a muscular, full-bodied personality. This big, backward but promising 2006 should drink well for t... Robert Parker. A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. 2006 Bond (Harlan) Vecina 750ml

Prior to bottling, the 2006 E Pluribus appears to be the star of the vintage for this portfolio. Blueberry liqueur, acacia flower, blackberry, wet steel, and spring flower characteristics are found in this beauty. With enormously sweet tannin, sumptu... Robert Parker. Intense and racy wild berry and blackberry fruit is flashy, tight, pure, focused and beautifully defined, picking up a nice dusty berry edge, with hints of black licorice, and offering wonderful depth, richness and persistence. Deep, full ruby. Black raspberry, licorice, roasted tobacco and mocha on the nose. Huge, broad and compellingly deep but not especially sweet or fruity. Surprisingly sappy acidity gives the wine shape and verve. The tannins here seem sweeter than tho... Stephen Tanzer. Good medium ruby color. Roasted black fruits and a suggestion of almost port-like ripeness on the nose. Lush, superripe and powerful, with superb density of flavor. With notes ranging from black olive to dark chocolate, this shows a wider range of ri... Stephen Tanzer's IWC. A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. 2003 Bond (Harlan) Vecina 750ml

The 1999 Vecina, a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon offering, exhibits aromas of graphite, tar, coffee, and creme de cassis. It is more austere and less charming and seductive than the 1999 S.
