Hanna has evolved from a winery dependent primarily on outside growers, to a 100% estate winery, with 252 acres of planted vineyards in three of Sonoma County's finest appellations. Our own vineyards allow us to control every aspect of grape growing, and we feel our wine quality has improved immeasurably. Alexander Valley Red Ranch We affectionately call this our "Red Ranch" as it is currently planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. When we first bought the ranch in 1985, it was planted in large part to Chardonnay and French Colombard. We find the red loam soils and warm climate to be ideal for the red Bordeaux varieties. With gently sloping blocks and terraced hillsides, this 100 acre ranch is also home to a tasting room with panoramic views. The Mediterranean style tasting room sits atop a knoll overlooking our "Red Ranch" vineyard and Alexander Valley. A stunning wrap-around veranda is the perfect place to enjoy the view while sipping our award winning wines. The vineyard is home to our flagship Cabernet and Merlot. Open Daily 10-4 Read less

Five years was too much for this wine. The bottle I just opened was bitter. It was not corked. It was just no longer worth drinking, and I had decanted it for about 20 min before even taking a sip.

Very, very good! Aged to perfection. Smooth, dense red and dark fruit - current, cassis, dark cherry, light tannins, and so enjoyable. I have this in my cellar, but it is going fast for every special occasion. Wish I had more of it!.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep crimson in color, with aromas of anise, cassis, blueberries and freshly ground coffee. It has flavors of plum, black cherry, cocoa, vanilla and black pepper, with polished tannins.

This delicious Cabernet comes from Hanna’s estate vineyard, the Red Ranch in Alexander Valley. About 50 acres of Cabernet and about 25 acres of Merlot grow there on gravelly red loam soils. The grapes were sorted, destemmed and the partially crushed and cold soaked for up to 13 days. After fermentation the finished wine is aged in French oak barrels from Taransaud, Seguin Moreau, Saury and Canton. The final blend is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot and the flavors are lush, full and brooding with dark fruits, earth, roasted nuts and cedar nuances. Tannins are supple and this wine is drinking beautifully right now, right out of the bottle. Great Value!
